The second Codex in the series is called ‘Void’, and it works like a pendulum, transforming random-seeming movements into a single meditative looping pattern.
While creating this Codex, I was exploring the idea that there is no such thing as randomness. What appears chaotic at first glance eventually reveals itself as a cyclical, repeating pattern. On a long enough timeline, a pattern always emerges.

The CODEX Series is an ongoing collection of individual artworks, with each piece referred to as a ‘Codex’ and numbered according to the sequence of its release. Each codex is a unique 1 of 1 artwork, released on the blockchain as an NFT and also available in various physical formats, such as limited edition prints of selected pieces.
Each Codex is a generative artwork created in real-time, meaning each piece is crafted and performed live by the artist, Oscar Zabala, at the moment of its creation. This results in a series of unique recorded artworks, with each artwork assigned a “BIRTH” code reflecting the date and timestamp of its generation and capture.
Every Codex belongs to a “Capsule,” with each Capsule featuring a distinct visual and audio language, themes, different medium releases, interactions, and even collaborators.
